Dr. Patel is the type of surgeon who would tell me like it is and what I need to do as a patient (no b.s) I believe he feels very passionate about his career as a surgen. He has a great bedside manner and made me feel very comfortable. With an amazing staff!!!

Hello, My name is Stacia I had Gastric Bypass exactly 1 yr ago on Oct 8th. I remember walking into Dr Patels office weighing in at 292 absolutely Terrified. He talked to me about how the procedure works and what to expect and he gave me a realistic weight loss expectancy. He was to the point and very professional. I also thought the office did a fantastic job getting everything approved through insurance in a very speedy manor. The day of my surgery went off with no problems. And now its been a year later and I am down to 153lbs and feeling fantastic. I promise anyone that is using him as their surgeon if you do what he says you will be successful.. He truly saved my life, he enabled me to be a more active mother and he helped get the confident Stacia back.. I truly believe that Dr. Patel is the best Bariatric surgeon! I had a one on one seminar with Dr. Patel, that was extremely nice. He answered all the question I had and also any my husband had. Found him very genuine and easy to talk to. Since my seminar he has moved from Hubbner to Stone Oak office which is alot more inconvenient but not a problem. Office staff has change several time since my first visit, but do not seem to have a large problem from that. His staff is in the process of finalizing all the paper work with my insurance company. Hopefully that goes swiftly and my date will be set for the end of October. I have no complaints as of yet and do not see any in the near future with the Dr. or the staff.

My first impression of Dr. Patel was that he wasn't one of those uptight doctors, he was very welcoming, funny, but to the point about why weight lose surgery would be beneficial to those of us who are overweight. I felt very comfortable with him. He also spoke on my level, not all doctor talk. Dr. Patel's staff is also amazing!!! The staff is always there to help if and when you might need it. LOVE them!!! Dr. Patel has a support group meeting once a month and they are amazing! I feel that I learn a lot from all who attend. I have only positive things to say about Dr. Patel and his staff, he and his staff are very up front with anything that needs to be addressed. I'm very glad that I met Dr. Patel and his staff. I would still be on that horrible roller coaster ride I f I wouldn't have gone to his seminar. Thank-you Dr. Patel your the greatest!!!

I was greatly impressed with Dr. Patel. He was very good in the first seminar I went to. He does talk a little fast in the meetings, but he does know his business and I felt very comfortable with him. The office staff are all awesome people, they know what you are going through because some of them have been where you are. I hope to be setting a date soon.

Dr. Patel is a very down to earth person and funny too... Good sense of humor. The office staff was excellent very friendly... That you can ask him anything and he will surely have a answer for you.. He puts time to listen to you... I know I made a wise choice in picking dr patel for my surgery,,, I am still not scheduled for surgery yet.

I loved the matter of fact manner Dr Patel had during the initial presentation that I attended at Innova Hopsital. His passion for the his work and his patients was/is obvious. His staff was/is nice but the organizational factor in his practice leaves much to be desired. Finding someone to help you or even talk to you was often a challenge that frustrated even the most determined patients. Dr. Patel, himself, is caring and knowledgible. After I went home from the hospital and became so ill, he stayed in contact and was very helpful. He recently went independent in his practice and moved his office to a new location. Hopefully, this will improve the organizational issues. I read on OH about NUT follow-ups, support groups and after care suport. I have had none of that with this... [Click here for more] surgeon. I have repeatedly requested info on these issues and had it promised to me but have never recieved any actual data or contact. It's a bit frustrating because I feel like I'm doing this alone and would be if not for my awesome OH family. I think that Dr. Patel has a rapidly growing practice and is experiancing growing pains. i do believe, however, that he is an outstanding surgeon and is working to resolve the problematic issues that I have encountered.

Dr. Patel was very informative, honest, open and truthful. He did not try to discourage or play down my feeling in regards to my weight. He encouraged all questions myself and my husband had in regards to surgery, risks and benefits. His office staff was nice, the insurance specialist was difficult to contact. However she did see to it that all items were taken care of in a timely manner.

Dr. Patel is very knowledgeable, very experienced in bariatric surgery, and very caring. He takes a great interest in his patients and longs for their success. His heart is in helping people to get healthy through this miraculous surgery he performs! His team is efficient and got me approved for surgery in as little as 3-4 weeks. That was from start to finish. He has an amazing aftercare support team. He impressed me with his level of standards in the whole process. He's great, and has a commendable recommendation from me.

I was very impressed the first time I met him. He is straight forward and to the point. He answers all of your questions but he doesn't make you feel like you're rushing him. He gives these seminars and you meet with him one on one on the day of the seminar. You can also do your psych eval and your nutrition consult all in the same day (if you don't have anything else to do). He does everything he can to get the surgery done for you. He knows a lot about insurance and will tell you everything you need for their approval. He is always available to you. All you have to do is e-mail him and he will get back with you the same day. It's really nice to have a doctor you can talk to if you have any concerns about anything.
